Schools and councils have a duty of care to ensure the safety of staff members whilst they are at work and children whilst under a school or council’s care.

Colan Limited has been manufacturing reflective and high visibility products for over 27 years, providing safety solutions that come in a wide choice of materials and colours, and providing probably the largest choice in the market. Colan works successfully with councils and schools to develop bespoke branded promotional or safety messages for a range of EN471 and EN1150 safety compliant garment designs, as well as slapwraps, reflective stickers, tabards, P.E. bags, badges and tags designed to improve the safety of people of all ages whilst at work or commuting to school.

Just one of Colan’s recent projects was a campaign that highlighted the importance of child visibility for pupils walking to school via the Walk to School scheme. Colan’s impressive associated products include for example waistcoats and tabards featuring reflective bands, similar rucksacks, rucksack covers and rucksack strap covers, holdalls, umbrellas, and P.E. bags, all designed to be aesthetically appealing both to children and adults.

A second recent campaign, for which Colan received endorsement from the Security Industry Association (SIA), was designed to persuade door supervisors and security personnel to wear Colan-manufactured Reflexite fluorescent ID armbands. These armbands are a great way for security personnel to be easily identified as such, by displaying their badges that can be seen easily by both the public and police. These armbands of course come in a variety of colours and have been particularly well received by many councils and authorities in the UK.
